Connected Stripe account #
Each organization connects its own Stripe account. Funds are processed for that connected account. The organization is responsible for:
- Stripe processing fees.
- Refunds.
- Disputes and chargebacks.
- Stripe account verification.
- Payout schedules and bank account settings.
- Compliance with Stripe’s terms and applicable law.
Organizations do not enter a Stripe secret key into the WordPress plugin. Stripe is connected through the GiveBlocks-hosted Stripe Connect flow.
GiveBlocks platform fee #
GiveBlocks applies a 1% platform fee to successful donations and ticket transactions. This is separate from Stripe’s processing fee.
Cover-fees option #
Campaign administrators may enable an optional cover-fees choice. When selected, the checkout total is increased so the organization can receive the intended campaign amount after the estimated processing and platform fees.
Final reporting is updated with the fee information returned by Stripe. Estimates shown before payment can differ from the final Stripe fee because Stripe pricing can vary by account, card, payment method, nonprofit pricing, country, or other Stripe rules.
Nonprofit Stripe pricing #
If Stripe has approved special nonprofit pricing on the connected organization’s account, Stripe applies that pricing according to its own account configuration. GiveBlocks does not override the connected account’s Stripe processing rate.
Currency #
The current live checkout flow creates payments and subscriptions in USD. Imported records can contain a currency value, but that does not change the currency used by new GiveBlocks checkout payments.
