Site connection and Stripe settings

Open GiveBlocks > Settings.

Claim the WordPress site #

  1. Complete the Organization Profile first.
  2. Select Email me a site-claim link.
  3. Check the inbox for the Organization Profile contact email.
  4. Open the one-time secure link.
  5. Return to the Settings page and confirm that the site is securely connected.

The site claim associates the exact WordPress site URL with GiveBlocks and issues connection credentials. These credentials are encrypted in the WordPress database and are not shown or editable on the Settings screen.

If the claim email does not arrive:

  • Check spam and quarantine folders.
  • Confirm the Organization Profile email is correct.
  • Verify WordPress can send email.
  • Configure a transactional email service or SMTP provider.
  • Request a new claim link because claim links are time-limited.

Select a payment mode #

Live payments #

Uses the live Stripe configuration. Real payment methods are charged and real money moves.

Stripe test mode #

Uses Stripe test accounts, test payment objects, and test cards. No real money moves.

Live and test mode maintain separate connected-account IDs. Connecting a test account does not connect the live account, and vice versa.

Save the mode before beginning Stripe onboarding. The status bar should agree with the selected radio button before continuing.

Connect a Stripe account #

New to Stripe #

Starts Stripe-hosted onboarding for an organization that needs a new connected account or must finish providing business information.

I already have Stripe #

Starts Stripe’s connection/sign-in flow for an eligible existing Stripe account.

Stripe may still request business, owner, banking, or identity information. This is controlled by Stripe and may be required even when the user already has a Stripe login.

Disconnect a Stripe account #

Disconnecting removes that payment-mode connection from the WordPress site. It does not delete the Stripe account or its Stripe records. Confirm that no live forms need the connection before disconnecting.

Site owners do not enter API secrets #

The organizer does not enter the GiveBlocks Platform API key, webhook secret, Stripe secret key, or Connect client ID. Those are platform-managed credentials.
